Max Dugan Returns

Celina and I are moving to Washington in just 17 short days, so we decided to have a garage sale. Her grandmother offered up her garage for said sale. While customers rummaged through some crap and ignored other crap, I noticed a VHS tape with three movies recorded on to it. One of which being, 'Max Dugan Returns'. I myself had never heard of this movie before. I consider myself a movie buff and there are a lot of random ass movies that I like that no one has ever heard of. Like Bill Murray's underrated crime caper, 'Quick Change'. Celina's grandma went on to rave about 'Max Dugan Returns', calling it one of her favorite movies. I brushed it off and really had no desire to seek out this movie.

Skip ahead two days and I am browsing Netflix in the morning before having to go to work. Wouldn't ya know it, Max Dugan pops up in the comedies genre. It was random as hell to say the least. I had no choice but to watch it. In short, 'Max Dugan Returns' is a simple 80s movie starring Jason Robards, Donald Sutherland, and a pre-Ferris Bueller Matthew Broderick. The movie is about an elderly ex-con and absentee Father that comes back into his daughter's life in order to both make amends with her and be a part of his grandson's life. Max Dugan also brings with him a briefcase full of money that may or may not have been legally acquired. The movie didn't WOW me, really. It was good, not great. I did appreciate the screenplay, and I think that's mostly due to it being a Neil Simon script.

What's strangest about this situation is the fact that 'Max Dugan Returns' has been on Netflix since October. So why is Netflix bringing it to my attention 7 months later? If I had googled the movie beforehand, I wouldn't find this happenstance particularly eventful. But the fact of the matter is, I never mentioned the film to anyone. The conspiracy theorist in me immediately assumed that Netflix hacked my phone and recorded my conversation through the microphone. Yes, I know that sounds crazy. I sometimes forget that synchronicity itself is crazy, crazy stuff.

9 Tater Tots

So the other day, Celina and I are eating tater tots and watching America's Funniest Home Videos like the true patriots that we are. We both put some tots on our plates. I left some on the baking sheet for later. About 5 minutes later, I overhear a clip from the show of a dog spitting out 9 tater tots. This prompts me to look at the baking sheet again. There were exactly 9 tater tots left over.

Extra tidbit:
Ore-Ida created tater tots. They also sell this product. Don't food products usually come in even numbers?

My Catholic Epiphanic Vision Quest in Copperopolis

First off, I'm not sure if it took place in Copperopolis, CA but I'm pretty sure it was in that region.

When I was 14 years old, my Mother was persistent as ever to get me to become more involved in our parish. St. Anthony's to be exact. She somehow convinced me to go on a teen retreat into the mountains in order to solidify my mushy, unreliable faith. Normally I'd flat out refuse and lock myself in a closet and swallow the key, but since my cousin of the same age was going, I thought, "Fine. Let's get it over with."

On a Friday morning in the summer (I think), the kids signed up for the teen retreat gather with their families in the parking lot of the church. Our bags are packed and we're ready to roll. I remember participating in a group prayer before we hit the road.

Once we get to the campground, my memories get hazy. I remember sleeping on the top bunk, eating eggs for Saturday morning's breakfast, and being discouraged when the girl I decided was the prettiest and most attainable decided to cling to the handsome, athletic Hispanic guy with the infatuation with FUBU and golf visors.

One night at the retreat, we were brought into a dimly lit room where noise was permitted. One by one, we participated in a mass hypnotism of some sort. i remember it being my turn and being surrounded by three women. One behind me, one in front and one on the side. The lady in front recited a prayer (chant) while the palm of her hand pressed against my forehead. Eventually, she would gently press my head back and the two other women would safely guide me to the ground. Now normally when this kind of thing happens, the victims involved are so overwhelmed with emotion and God knows what else, that they really do pass out for a few seconds. I, however did not pass out and decided to act like I did (years later I did the same exact thing when participating in a hypnotism show at the County Fair).

The next day at camp we were split into groups of 5 or 6 and had a conversation with one of the counselors. One of the objectives was to get every teen to admit something they feel bad about at the moment. It was basically a communal confession. When it got to me, I reached for something bad. Honestly, I wasn't that bad of a kid at the time. I didn't do anything too crazy. I mean, I had tried pot and alcohol but that was something I wasn't willing to share with a bunch of goody goodies. I ended up discussing a girl named Missy I briefly dated for three days but ended up deciding to just be friends with. I felt bad about the way I treated her and the situation but chalked it up to, "This is what a high school relationship is."

Fast forward to Sunday when we returned to St. Anthony's, just in time for evening mass. It's a bit embarrassing to admit but I was "awakened". Whatever it was that those spellcasters did to me, it worked (albeit briefly). I embraced my Mother and cried into her shoulder. I had seen the light. Finally, my Mother got the good ol' religious boy she always dreamed of.

After church, my Mother and I, along with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins went out to eat at Foster Freeze (A restaurant we never go to). Sure enough, who do I see at the joint? Missy. I remember being very disoriented when this happened. How could it be possible that the one person I mention on a religious retreat is now standing in front of me. Also, making it more than a coincidence was the fact that she and I both lived in the town over from where we were eating. I took this as a definitive sign from God that not only was he real, he was watching over me. I took this unprecedented moment as an opportunity to apologize to Missy for being such a bonehead. My conscious was clear and I felt lighter than I ever had before.

How amazing, right? I naively mistook synchronicity for God. But maybe there's more of a connection between the two than previously thought. Synchronicity is a reminder from the ethereal realm that there is something at work that is greater than you, I, and everyone else combined. It was truly a momentous occasion.

Anyways, Catholicism did not stick and I eventually went back to my normal ways of thinking. I have my older brothers to thank for that. They wasted no time in explaining to me logically how the religion doesn't quite work for certain minds.

Either way, what a gas!

This Week in the Weird World of Sync...

This past week will go down in the annals of time as a huge milestone in modern society. On June 26, 2015, same-sex-marriage was legalized in every single state in America. This fight for basic human equality has been raging for years now. It's only been a day since the decision and it already feels strange to look back and wonder why this was ever a debate in the first place. In my mind there is no legitimate, logical reason to be against gay marriage. When you oppose the rights of others to marry, you oppose human rights in general. Who the hell is anyone to say that someone of a specific sect should not be allowed to do something that you ARE allowed to do. It is by far one of the most evil, arrogant ways to look at someone who is "unlike" you. It's even more perplexing that people are against something that literally has no effect on you.

So on to the first sync I experienced this week. It started with an observation that is only relevant to myself and the people in my Anthropology course. I find it very fitting that the week I'm studying 'Marriage Customs' is the same week that gay marriage is legalized.

Last week, another shooting occurred in the U.S. Just when you think they are a thing of the past, Dylann Roof shatters your expectations. Roof open fires on a predominantly black church in South Carolina. When Roof's pictures on the internet come to light, it is revealed that he has a deep affinity for the confederate flag (no shock there).

So now there is a focus on this flag that is known for being synonymous with hate. Rational minds want the flag taken down, while bigots and homophobes defend its historical significance.

Within the time span of just a few days, our attention is pulled from one end of the spectrum to the other. The flag of hate is symbolically "taken down" and replaced with the rainbow flag, which is obviously synonymous with love. When same sex marriage is legalized, your internet feed is instantly changed. Instead of the confederate flag plastering your point of view, it is arguably, systematically replaced by the rainbow flag. Positive replaces the negative swiftly.

Besides the flag of love waving high and proud, a hashtag floods the internet. #LoveWins. Almost a direct message saying: 'We Fought Hate and Won!" It reminds me of the Martin Luther King quote, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

Now, it is no coincidence to me that on the same day same sex marriage is legalized, celebrity, Courtney Love tweets about being stuck in the middle of the Paris Uber Strike.

This entire sequence of events reminded me that synchronicity never takes a day off. One last thing I want to mention is some choice words I chose to use throughout this post. Words such as synchronicity (duh), synonymous, symbolically, systematically

We are witnessing firsthand, unity. It is a slow and uphill battle but you can't deny that we as a people are evolving a little more every single day. It's always a great thing to wake up to great news and it feels like it never seems to happen anymore. We can only hope that this is a sign of great things to come.

Onward & Upward!

Meg Foster and her hypnotic eyeballs

The following events occurred on Monday, March 4, 2013.

First point to make is that during Monday morning, my brother mentioned to me that ever since I told him about the owl that sometimes shows up outside the right side of the house, he now has been hearing it. And he didn't before I brought it up.

Monday started off with a video of Bill Hicks:

Between 3 and 3:30 pm, I was on the computer watching a trailer for Rob Zombie's 'Lords of Salem'. Toward the end, when they showed three witches, I noticed one of them resembling an old wrinkly Meg Foster (They Live, Oblivion (1994), Masters of the Universe). So I head to IMDb to see if it's her. It was her and it just so happens that one of her more recent credits is a film called '333'.

I should also note something I just realized while writing this. The two movies in question have her playing a character with two Ms. MM resonating Mercury's Messenger AKA Christopher Hunter Myers. Someone who has recently piqued my interest in Magick.

So it turns out '333' was retitled, 'Tormented Souls'. While watching the film's trailer, this screenshot appears:

"This world is a lie and mankind's only wish is to be deceived."

It was at this point that I started hearing hooting. Yes, the owl happened to show up outside the window at the exact moment of synchronicity. I went outside to look at it but it was already gone.

Fast forward about an hour. We're out and about, looking for a fix-it part (I don't want to bore myself with the details yet alone the reader). The person I'm with wanted a drink so we stop at a gas station. When we get there, I see a woman just staring at a dog tied up outside. I didn't see anything particularly interesting about it. That was until it looked at me. Jet black fur and piercing blue/white eyes. I shit you not, Meg Foster eyes like a motherfucker. This picture might not show exactly how hypnotic they were, but it definitely stood out as something meaningful.

It always blows my mind when something like this happens. For one, I could have chosen to go to any gas station in town. But it just so happened that we ended up at one containing a dog with Meg Foster eyes. And the timing is a factor also. Had we taken a wrong turn, hit a stop light/traffic, that dog may not have been there.

Weird shit. Weird, weird shit.

Papal Pandemonium

About 3 weeks ago, I was introduced to a character from Marvel that I previously had no knowledge of. His name is Gallowglass and he's the son of Thanos (a big baddie) It's also a class of Scot warriors. I made a note to myself when this name and term came into my life. It was an experiment of sorts, to see how long it might take for gallowglass to pop up again without me deliberately seeking it out. The day has come. On Cupid's birthday none the less. While looking at the filmography of Michael Sheen, an actor I like, I see that one of his credits is for a film called....you guessed it...."Gallowglass". I felt like that was a big enough sign to catapult me in to posting about a recent pope sync that blew my socks off.

Monday February 11th, 2013, as we all know, is the date that Pope Benedict announced his resignation from the dark throne of darkness. This is a pretty big deal. Regardless if you buy in to the 'Peter the Roman "conspiracy"'. This is the first time a pope has resigned in some 700 years. Talk about an historical moment. I woke up to this news and found it odd to say the least, just because March 2013 was already in my head as a potential "End of times" date. But Dec. 21, 2012 came and went, so I'll keep that idea on the back burner for the time being.  It's perfect timing though. Apparently, the 112th pope will be the last pope, before end times. Benedict is 111th. So take that as you will.

So on to the sync. Probably around 7 or 8pm on Monday, my brother Nick tells me about a book he was just reading (He reads about 2 or 3 a week, I believe). The book being 'Bel-Ami'.  A French novel from the 19th century. I acknowledged this, but really didn't give it much thought. Fast forward a couple hours. I end up bringing up (seemingly on a whim) the story of Jesus walking on water. Being someone who knows very little about the bible, I questioned whether or not the story shows up in the holy book or was a story made up, later on. QUICK, TO WIKIPEDIA! Nick simply searches, 'Jesus walking on water.' Wouldn't ya know it, a page for that specific miracle exists. And the very first image on the page is this:

Here's where things get weird. Nick tells me that the painting on the page was described in a scene in 'Bel-Ami'. In fact, it was the last thing he read about, in said book. This is odd to say the least.  There are many pictures of Jesus walking on water. But for whatever reason, the wikipedia page used THIS one. We racked our brains for the rest of the night. How did this happen?

Did I subconsciously read Nick's thoughts?
Did I read Bel-Ami in a past life and plan the connection unknowingly?
Maybe because of my Catholic upbringing, some thing within me triggered because everyone was thinking about the pope that day?
Or perhaps it was just a simple act of fate?

But the question isn't how. It's why. Let's say Jesus walking on water, or the metaphor within, was a mystical message from a higher power. What could it/she/he be trying to tell us?

Let's add a little lighter fluid to these charcoals of curiosity.  Here's the story from the bible:

And straightway he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away.
23 And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone.
24 But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters.
29 And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were gone up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 And they that were in the boat worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Yeah, so Peter was the one involved in this story.  Peter being the name of the inevitable papal replacement.  Yes, you can say, "Well, Peter was in a lot of the bible" He was. But so was Mark, Matthew, John, Ezekial, fucking a ton of people were in that book. The indisputable fact here, is that PETER was featured in the miracle.

Let's end this with some pictures.  I searched for Peter Turkson, the supposed Petrus Romanus. On his wikipedia page lies this image:

And if you wikipedia search: Papal Conclave, 2013, you get THIS image:

Both have different objects on top, but both look like flying saucers to me. Especially Peter Turkson's. That's the shit I used to draw in 4th grade.
Lately, I have found that when I research heavily in to some kind of synchronicity or just an esoteric subject, it always seems to come back to aliens.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

UPDATE: 2/20/2013
I forgot to mention in the original post, what happened to St. Peter's church after the Pope resigned.
 It looked something like this...

When I first read this article, the word basilica (Roman public building or the tribunal chamber of a King) stood out. It reminded me of the word basilisk. Which is a "legendary reptile reputed to be king of serpents...
How fitting.

Tuesday tuesday tuesday

So it was the afternoon of Wednesday, January 23rd that I was having lunch with my friend John. It never usually takes us long to get in to the esoteric discussions. I had mentioned to him how sometimes I'll rent 2 or 3 movies with little to no discernible connection and end up finding similarities. Whether it be theme, same actors, or even an obscure reference that just so happens to appear in both/all films.  Actually, I once watched the classic John Ritter rumpus, 'Stay Tuned' and realized how similar the plot was to the recent, 'Cabin in the Woods'.  Maybe I'll write an entry on that one day.

So Wednesday night, I decided to rent some vids. I end up getting 'The Three Musketeers', 'Tower Heist', and 'The Fourth Kind.'  I haven't seen any of them before and I watch them in that order. 'Three Musketeers' wasn't the worst thing ever, but it wasn't the best thing either. I got exactly what I expected out of it. At times, it was fun and action packed and the cast was good even if they didn't have a lot to work with. One line that is repeated twice in the film goes like this:

Constance: Are you always this cocky?
D'Artagnan: Only on Tuesdays...and whenever beautiful women are involved.

There are no other days mentioned throughout the film.

On to 'Tower Heist'. Pretty solid cast, but in the end, Eddie Murphy is the only one who can make me laugh. And as far as sex appeal goes, you will have to look elsewhere. All they give you is Tea Leoni and the girl from 'Precious'. Yeah, it is what it is. Tea plays a cop, Claire Denham, Ben Stiller is Josh Kovaks. There's one scene where they get a little tipsy together at a NY watering hole.

Claire: The last time I drank this much at a bar, I made out with a firefighter.
Josh: Really? How long ago was that?
Claire: Tuesday.
(They both laugh)

When this scene occurred, I was taken back a little. It was obvious enough of a reference to write down.

I watched 'The Fourth Kind' the next morning. I was waiting for a Tuesday reference. Of course, if the movie ended up having a scene where some woman reads her weekly planner aloud, then I wouldn't have counted it.  About an hour and 15 minutes in, I figured if it hadn't happened yet, it probably won't.
Low and behold:

Man interviewing main character:
Interviewer: Let's go back three days. To Tuesday.

And yes, that is the only time a day is mentioned throughout the entire film.

Also, there were about 6 or 7
33 or 333s. And SPOILER ALERT...the alien abductions occurred at 3:33 am.
It is what it is, and if it wasn't, it would be something else.

Besides these apparent Tuesday references, there were two other similarities to note.

Milla Jovovich appears in both 'Musketeers' and 'Fourth Kind'.

A chess game between Kovacs and his antagonist in 'Tower Heist' is an underlying theme throughout the movie and there is a chess match between the Cardinal and the young King of France in 'Musketeers'.

Tuesday
The English name is derived from Old English Tiwesdæg and Middle English Tewesday, meaning "Tīw's Day", the day of Tiw or Týr, the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory in Norse mythology. Tiw was equated with Mars in the interpretatio romana, and the name of the day is a translation of Latin dies Martis.

The Latin name dies Martis ("day of Mars") is equivalent to the Greek ἡμέρα Ἄρεως. In most languages with Latin origins (FrenchSpanishCatalanItalianRomanianGallicianSardinianCorsican, but notPortuguese), the day is named after Mars, the Roman god of war.

  • Black Tuesday, in the United States, refers to Tuesday, October 29, 1929, part of the great Stock Market Crash of 1929. This was the Tuesday after Black Thursday. The crash is said to have marked the start of the Great Depression.
  • Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of every month when Microsoft releases patches for their products. Some system administrators call this day Black Tuesday.
  • Shrove Tuesday (also called Mardi Gras - fat Tuesday) precedes the first day of Lent in the Western Christian calendar.
  • Super Tuesday is the day many American states hold their presidential primary elections.

-Wikipedia

I don't wish for anything bad to happen on Tuesday, and I hope me even talking about this, is okay. But let's just say that January 29th rolls around and something does occur, you can come back here and see the time stamp below. I may even be lucky and Tuesday could bring something good. Or Tuesday can come and go like most other Tuesdays.

If the universe was trying to convey messages via media, then Tuesday IS a message. What that message may entail, if anything, is up to me to figure out.

Can't stop won't stop till the panties drop

I bought my brother a wolf calendar today.

It had two UPC codes on the back. Of course, one had a 33 and the other, a 333.

I sync, therefore I am

I got my Superman: Elseworld comic in the mail yesterday.

This is the "what-if" one that invites the question, "What if baby Kal-El's space vessel crash landed in Gotham City, NY instead of Smallville, KS?"

Okay, now that I got that out of the way, I'll stop geeking out all over your face.

I was pleased to see what came with it.

A 33 on the front and a 333 on the back.

The Baler of Destiny

Thursday. September 20th. 1:45 pm.
I was having a conversation with my brother about a recent dream I had.  I had work at 2, and left the house at 1:50.  While on the way to start my shift, I remembered another portion of the previous evening's dream. I dreamt of the baler at work. The big ol' green bastard that molds loose cardboard in to a neatly packed cube.  In the dream, a co worker had told me that the baler was broken. I didn't really react. I figured, I dreamt this scenario because Thursday is the day that I make a bale. I thought to myself, that would be neat if my subconscious was laying out bread crumbs. Maybe I would go to work and find a 20 dollar bill next to the baler.

So I get to work, I go to the baler and look for anything different or strange. Part of me thought I might find an owl or something equally significant. On the front of the machine, there are ridges.  Ridges big enough to hold random items. Usually these items are damaged products or just loose tools. Hammers, screwdrivers, etc. Today, I noticed an orange toy, a hairspray bottle, packaging to a toy car, some gloves, and a pair of scissors. Nothing too odd. I go about my business and make the bale. When I'm done, I close the door (hatch?). Something falls off the ridge and on to the ground. It's the orange toy.

Which by further inspection, seems to be a cement mixer? I examine it closely. On the bottom, it says Made in China. But there's something else on the vibrant orange plastic.

7333, with the 7 kind of hiding behind the wheel. This is where my heart started beating fast. My chest was pumping, I was so freaked out. That is just TOO fucking weird, right? What are the Gods (BSG anyone?) Damn odds?

Immediately, this situation reminded me of the choosing process from 'Seven Years in Tibet'. The scene where they are trying to find the new Dalai Lama by exposing children to certain objects to see if they "make the right choice". A similar scene occurs in the 4th season episode of 'LOST', "Cabin Fever". Too weird man....too fucking weird.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na

I mentioned briefly in my February 7 post, a theoretical delay between human thought and material manipulation.  I've felt for the past week that this delay not only exists, but is getting exponentially shorter.
I don't even know if I can make it to December 21 before materializing a dinosaur in to existence. But I digress. Here's a few examples of my recent syncs.

Last night, I'm watching a clip of Andrew Garfield (The New Spider-Man) on 'Ellen'. In the background, I'm listening to Red Ice Radio's recent interview with J.J. & Desiree Hurtak. It was when Andrew said Ellen's name that no more than 2 seconds later, Desiree had mentioned Comet Elenin. I know, Elenin and Ellen are not the same words. But they're pretty damn close.

Fast forward to this afternoon. I'm listening to The Band's performance of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".

While doing this, I'm reading Grant Morrison's bio on wikipedia. I'm skimming the words, when 1:08 in to the song approaches. It's at this point that the next words on the bio are these:

Brain Explosion

So last night, I text my friend Jason, for some music recommendations. Which by the way, he succeeded in quite well. We're talking back and forth about the songs he posted to my facebook wall. I send him a text at 12:49 am saying this:

To clear up something, my nick-name for my friend is "Lotion". Yeah, you had to have been there. Either way, this Brain Explosion sync occured 4 minutes after I wrote the words. Pretty radical.

Fantastic Fourth Dimensional Happy Hour

I just recently listened to an interview on Red Ice Radio featuring Bob Frissell.  He discussed 2012, ages, Atlantis, Greys, etc.  The following is an excerpt:

"When we get to the fourth dimension, the manifestation is instant. In other words, whatever
you think, whatever you feel is the instantly manifested reality. So the time delay has been completely removed."

Now, for me personally, this time delay seems to be decreasing exponentially.  Maybe a year ago, I would've thought of someone and a week would go by before they called me out of the blue.  Now a days, as short as a couple hours could pass before manifestation.

An example:

Last night, I watched a Japanese film called, 'I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay'.  Pretty good movie. A big aspect of the film dealt with the main character's relationship with her Granny.  Specifically involving Granny's dentures.
After this movie ended, the next film put on was a Clint Eastwood classic, 'Every Which Way But Loose'.  And yes, that is the one where he's a bare knuckle street fighter with a pet orangutan.  About 20 minutes in, Clint's character is at the bar, trying to seduce a local girl. She ends up being rude to him, so he responds with a playful joke. That being, the old, "Dentures in her bowl of soup gag".
I don't think about dentures too often, and here they are, brought to my attention, twice in a matter of 2 hours.
I should also mention that the biker gang in this film goes by the name, "The Black Widows"

Now if indeed, this time delay is decreasing. Whether it be by natural means, a glitch in the matrix, or simply because our planet is in the process of realigning itself with the center of the galaxy, I do believe this is happening. I thought to myself, well if this is true, then I'll test it out.  A week back, I tried thinking of the most random thing I could....hmmm...WALRUS! Then  I sat back and waited for a walrus to show up.  The next day, I'm online and see a Ferris Bueller commercial for the upcoming Super Bowl game at the time.  I watched it only to find this stare off between Matthew Broderick and....you guessed it. A fucking walrus

We definitely live in exciting times. Let's embrace it.

Creating Reality With Your Brain...

After the events of Sunday, January 29th, 2012, I've been forced to re-define my thoughts on synchronicity and magic.  Which I now theorize are very closely connected.
First, let me mention the events of a week or so ago.
1. My brother and I were discussing what big cats could represent in a dream.  The cat in question was a panther.
2. I discovered a new song called "Synthesizers" by a band called, Butch Walker and the Black Widows.
Ever since hearing it for the first time, I've been eye to eye with black widows pretty regularly.  One next to the door bell, another in a place to be mentioned in 5 seconds.

On Saturday night, I stayed the night at my cousin's place in Ceres.  When we went to the liquor store, I opened my car door to see a black widow. In the morning, he, his roommate and I were all lounging, watching Sunday morning television.  We end up watching 'The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie from 1990.  A discussion starts about Master Splinter and how a "splinter" isn't necessarily a good thing.

In fact, they can be quite painful and annoying.  The movie that comes on after TMNT is 'Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed'.  I should note, these are not usually the kinds of movies I watch. But hey, it is what it is.  The first monster to "unleash" itself in Scooby Doo 2 was this green pterodactyl

Now let's fast forward a few hours.  I'm hanging out with a friend in Modesto.  When I pick him up, I make note of a bear blanket in his house.  He says he likes it, but much preferred his old panther blanket.  Later, we're talking about Easter and white rabbits and their appearances in films like "Harvey", "The Matrix", "Alice in Wonderland" and so on.

Later, I notice my friend's new wallet. One I'm very envious of.  It has anchors on the outside and scorpions in the inside.

Now, the time is 8pm, back at my house in Tracy.
The next few hours is riddled with manifestations of things I was literally just thinking about.  A Family Guy episode is played that involves the stair case having to be replaced because Stewie gets a
splinter.

In the next episode of Family Guy, Peter rides a green pterodactyl.

After Family Guy, we start watching South Park.  The Easter spectacular episode, featuring this rabbit.

After that, we put on Ralph Bakshi's 'Fire and Ice'.  One of the first scenes involves this panther.

About 20 minutes later, a character shouts, "Release the dragon hawks!" Which if you ask me, closely resemble green pterodactyls.

Toward the middle of the film, the bad guys embark on their boat of evil. Which looks like this.

Notice the black widow. Also, take note of the skull with bat wings on the top.  I'll get back to that.
Now, it's around 1 or 2 in the morning, and I'm getting ready for bed.  While laying down, I decide to read the new comic book I got in the mail, Green Lantern no 9.  I bought it on a whim because it features Batman turning in to a lantern, for a brief moment.  Here's one of the pages from the book:

This is the Tattooed Man unleashing his monsters (tattoos) upon Hal Jordan.  Note the scorpion. and in the bottom right corner, even though it's a little cut off, is a skull with bat wings.

Now, here's my theory on why this all might be happening.  It's already been talked about within circles of people, that we create our own reality with our thoughts. I think that's exactly what's happening here.  My thoughts are manifesting themselves in to this physical reality that we all live in.  In this scenario, I believe it was mostly unintentional.  BUT. I also think that it is a skill that has the potential to be controlled and exercised.  In fact, I believe this is magic. I think wizards, magicians, shamans, sages, enlightened individuals (Jesus, Buddha) had knowledge of this ability and used it either for good or for bad. White magic and black magic if you will.  But like anything else, it's just a theory.
